The Infant Classroom becomes a Pizzeria for the day!

To finish up our theme on food and the Restaurant, the children of Ms. O'Brien's class became the chefs in a Pizzeria for the day. 

The children learned all about how mixing a few simple ingredients together can make pizza! 

We mixed yeast with honey in warm water and watched in delight as the yeast bubbled and grew. We all got a turn mixing in the yeast mixture into the flour and salt and bringing them all together to make a sticky dough. 

The sticky dough was worked upon until it became bouncy and no longer stuck to our hands and we all got a turn kneading it. 

We left the dough for an hour in a warm spot and we were amazed when it had, as if by magic, almost  doubled in size! 

We knocked back the dough and the children had turns shaping the dough, adding the sauce and cheese before they enlisted Ms. O'Brien to help with the tricky job of taking the pizza in and out of the oven. 

Before we went home we all feasted on our delicious feast!
