Habitat Hunt!
Welcome back to the boys and girls of First and 2nd classes who have settled so well into the new academic year.
This past week, we learned all about habitats in our school environment and in groups of four, the children had a specific habitat to explore. The main habitats we focused on were; the hedgerow, the oak tree, Harry's garden and a crack in the wall. The children took off, armed with bug viewers and pooters to see what insects they could find. After some searching and digging around, the boys and girls came back with ants, flies, spiders, daddy long legs to name but a few. Who knew that the school grounds in which we play everyday would be home to such a variety of living things. Well done to the children on excellent participation in the group work!
