The children explored the topic of Magnetism this week in science. they learning about the poles of magnets and experimented first hand with how the poles attract and repel. The children predicted which objects would be attracted to a magnet. They experimented with a variety of objects such as coins, screws, cutlery, copper,stainless steel etc. In pairs, they took a paper clip for a walk through a maze. We also made a little track from the pencil cases, which was set up on the desks. Great fun was had trying to guide a magnetic ball through the maze by controlling it with a strong horse shoe magnet under the desk. The best fun of all though was free play with the magnets!!
