All About Our Run Around Europe
This year we participated in the "Run Around Europe" challenge.
Every time a person ran around our 1km track, at the GAA pitch, it counted as 1km towards our total. Since there 101 pupils in our school, every time that everyone ran around the track, it equated to 101km.
So, we started at the Spire in Dublin, we "went" to many famous landmarks around Europe, including but not limited to: Big Ben in London, The Eiffel Tower in Paris, The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy and even as far as the Aspendos Theatre, which is 3399km away, in Turkey.
We started running around the track every day back in September preparing for our Family Fun Run and our Athletics competitions in Clonmel and Thurles. But since November we've been doing it every Monday and Friday (when we have our Tracksuit Days).
We completed our Landmarks Challenge in January, but since we have reached over 5000km, as we still enjoy our tracksuit day runs.
