Junior/Senior Infants – Ms. Corbett

Welcome to Ms. Corbett's Junior and Senior Infant Classroom.  There are currently 23 children in Infants.

In the Infant classroom, we take a fun-filled, play-oriented approach to learning.  Through the Aistear framework, we encourage children to learn through play and hands-on learning. This helps children to learn through exploration and socialise with each other in a pressure-free environment. We will take things day by day on our road to settling in with new routines. There is always a big emphasis on kindness, friendship and teamwork in our classroom and this will remain unchanged!

We are very lucky in our classroom to collaborate with Ms. O’Neill and Mr. McCarthy, a few times each week for our Infant Literacy Stations.  These stations give all of our Infants more quality time in small groups with teachers. This early intervention has proven to be a huge success in laying a solid foundation for your child's learning. We pride ourselves on providing precision teaching in small groups, focusing on the strengths and needs of each group.

We are also a very active school and this starts from the moment your child joins Golden NS. We encourage children to get out and get moving every day...even the rainy days! We enjoy fitness activities and guided dancing through our interactive whiteboard and GoNoodle when we can't make it outside. Staying active is one of the most important ways to develop your child's physical, emotional and social well being. We find the earlier we get them moving, the greater the positive impact on your child.

We aim to promote your child's burgeoning independence, cooperation and a growth mindset in the Infant classroom along with a love for learning and a curiosity in the world around them; we believe these are the keys to a happy and successful time in school.

Ms. Corbett
